NATURE FOR BAPTIST CHURCHES (NBC)-- NBC has changed its meeting day from Sunday
to Friday at 6:00 pm.
FELLOWSHIP SERVICE WITH MT ARARAT BAPTIST

Lester and Combined Choirs to the Communion Service at Mt. Ararat Baptist
Church, Baltimore, Maryland, Reverend Charles Coger,
Pastor. Pastor Boston has been invited
to bring the message and the choir to render songs of praise. The church is located at: 3008 Gwynn Falls Parkway, Baltimore,

TROY V. LEWIS LAYMEN LEAGUE WORKSHOP-- The Troy V. Lewis Laymen League of the
UBMC, once a month conducts a workshop on the second or third Saturday of each
month at different churches in Maryland.
All men are invited.
USHERS NEEDED! Anyone interested in joining the Adult, Youth or Children Ushers Ministry,
please see one of the ushers or attend the Ushers monthly meeting every 3rd
Sunday after morning worship.
THE FALL BIBLE STUDY will begin on Monday, September 12, 2011 at 7:15 pm. Please join us as we continue our study on
the Gospel of John. This class will be
taught by Pastor Boston and Rev. Basil G. Scott.
SOUTHERN FLAVORINGS--The Scholarship Committee will be selling
"Southern Flavorings" to help meet the financial needs of our
youth. Please support us in this effort.
ALL PEW LEADERS--We will begin holding regular monthly
meetings on 2nd Sundays following morning worship service. Please continue to track attendance for your
pew assignments, particularly on 1st Sundays.
By working with the Church Clerk we can obtain contact information for
members who have been noticeably absent, not due to sickness or work. During our regularly scheduled meetings, we
will discuss how best to conduct outreach to our members, e.g. through a family
member, card, or telephone call. In
addition, we will discuss the addition of new subcommittee members.

HEALTH MINISTRY EXERCISE CLASSES-- The Church's Health Ministry will start
exercise classes on Tuesdays at 6:00
pm beginning October 4, 2011. Classes will be held in the Annex. All are welcome.
CHILDREN'S CHURCH will reconvene on Sunday, October 9, 2011. All
children between the ages of 5 and 12 are cordially invited. Reverend Basil G. Scott, Children's Ministry
Pastor, will preach God's Word in a manner the children will understand. The children will also sing songs, read Bible
verses, engage in activities, and enjoy refreshments.
2011 ANNUAL CHURCH BUSINESS MEETING--

attend our Annual Church Business meeting on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, 7:00 pm.
The purpose of this meeting is to transact the business of the church
which includes electing officers, receiving and approving the budget and annual
reports, and projects the goals for the coming year. All members are encouraged to attend;
business of importance will be discussed.

To prepare for the upcoming Church Business
meeting, all Officers and Ministry Chairs are requested to submit their 2011
Annual Reports no later than Sunday,
January 1, 2012. This will give
Sister Tobi Brown enough time to assemble, reproduce
and distribute these reports to the Congregation by January 8, 2011. Further,
the Congregation will have enough time to read these reports so that they may
prepare for the upcoming meeting. The
Organizational Annual Report forms have been placed in your mailbox slots. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and

2012 YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULT BIBLE STUDY--Next year, the Youth and Young Adult
Ministry will begin a new Bible study.
The first session will be held on Tuesday,
January 10th from 5:30 - 7:00 pm and will be held every Tuesday until the
end of June. Join us as we “study to
show thyself approved…” and receive a blessing.
NOMINATING COMMITTEE--During the January 2012 Annual Church
meeting, voting will take place to fill end-of-term vacancies for the following
ministries: Trustees, Building,
Maintenance, & Expansion Committee, & Assistant Church Treasurer.
Any church member
interested in filling a position may submit their name, in writing, to any
member of the Nominating Committee.
USHERS' ANNIVERSARY--First Baptist Church Ushers' Anniversary
will be held on Sunday, January 15,
2012, at 3:30 pm. The Guest Preacher
will be the Reverend Elaine Taylor, Youth Minister, First Baptist Church Cherry
Hill, Brooklyn, Maryland. Members and
friends are invited to attend and receive a blessing.
DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING MEMORIAL BREAKFAST--
The Annual Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr. Memorial Breakfast will be held on Monday, January 16, 2012, at the Anne Arundel Community
College. The program starts at
8:00 am and doors
open at 7:30 am. The speaker will be
Congressman Elijah Cummings and our Minister of Music, Brother Lemoria L. Lester, Jr. will help provide the music. Tickets are $35.00.
BAPTIST CONGRESS OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION’S
ANNUAL FELLOWSHIP AND AWARDS BANQUET--The Annual Congress Awards Banquet will be held on Friday, February 3, 2012, 6:30 pm at
Martin West located at 6821 Dogwood Road, Baltimore, Maryland. This year the Ministry of Christian Education
is honoring Deacon Charles Gross and Sister Hannah Finney. Subscriptions are $60.00 per person.
ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2012, AT 7:00 PM,
MT. MORIAH AME CHURCH OF ANNAPOLIS will be sponsoring a program to honor Christian women of various
churches. The Women’s Ministry has
selected Sister Denise Smith as our honoree.

SALUTE TO EXCELLENCE AWARD--It is with pleasure that the ladies of
Delta Pi Omega Chapter, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. inform you that
Brother Harrell Spruill is our nominee and a recipient of a “Salute to
Excellence (STE) 2012” in Community Education Award. The Salute to Excellence in Community
Education Awards and Luncheon are designed to recognize and acknowledge those
in the community who have made a difference in non-traditional education ways
to create an environment where are youth can grow. The STE Luncheon will be held on February 11, 2012, at 12 Noon at the

FELLOWSHIP SERVICE WITH WHITESTONE--Sunday,
February 26, 2012, at 3:30
pm, First Baptist will travel to Baltimore for our Annual Fellowship service
with Whitestone Baptist Church, Reverend Dr. Elmore E. Warren, Pastor. The church is located at 3001-5 Baker Street,
Baltimore, MD 21216. Reverend Boston will render a Word from the
Lord and music will be provided by the Combined Choirs.
SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS for A Tribute to Women of Color and A
Tribute to Men of Color for high school seniors and college freshmen are
available. The annual luncheon and
awards program will be held on Saturday,
March 3, 2012, at 11:00 am at the LaFontaine Bleu

ARUNDEL HABITAT FOR HUMANITY ANNOUNCEMENT—Any individual
or family interested in applying for home ownership in Obery
Court should contact Ms. Sambo Hilton at
410-384-9212, ext.
117. You must be a present occupant of
Annapolis Public Housing. Presently this
is the application process for those in public housing. If this process does not produce enough
applicants for home ownership, the process will be open to other interested
Annapolis/County residents.
If you want to be
on the Obery Court Committee for Arundel Habitat for
Humanity, the Committee meets every 2 weeks at the Stanton Center. This is a subcommittee that reviews
applications.
HOSPITALITY MINISTRY is looking for volunteers to help with
church activities that require food preparation.
MINISTRY OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION—The Ministry of Christian Education is
looking for a secretary to take notes during meetings on the first Monday of
the month at 5:30 pm.
THE ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, DEPARTMENT OF
AGING
HISTORICAL MINISTRY of First Baptist Church has been formed. The purpose of this Ministry is to preserve
significant events and ceremonies so that future generations may gain knowledge
on the accomplishments and progress of the Church.
THE MARYLAND PRIMARY ADULT
CHRISTIAN EDUCATION MINISTRY—We are getting ready to gear up for the
2008-2009 work for the Lord. In order
for us to be effective, we need help and assistance of each ministry. We will be meeting the First Monday of every month.
NURTURE FOR BAPTIST CHURCHES(NBC)—During this quarter, we shall focus on the
meaning and significance of the Spirit-filled life. NBC is in session every Sunday at 6 p.m.
