SCHOLARSHIP RECOGNITION PROGRAM--

July 25-- All scholarship and recognition forms are due to the Scholarship Committee

July 28-- Scholarship Committee meeting at 6:00 pm

August 8--Recognition Program during morning worship

Please provide all information requested on the application.  A report card must be furnished for the 3rd and 4th marking periods in which a student qualified for the Principal's or Regular Honor Roll.

Students recognized by their school for perfect attendance, music, reading and other similar awards must provide a copy of the awards.

College students who made  the Honor Roll or the Dean's list must provide a copy of their transcript.

All information must be turned in to a Committee member NLT Sunday, July 25.

THE CURRICULUM CALLED SPIRITUAL ELEMENTS ESSENTIAL FOR DISCIPLESHIP (SEED) first class was held on Monday, April 12 at 7:15 pm.  All members but especially officers are strongly encourage to attend.  An additional 9 sessions will be covered.

 

FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, 2010 SUMMER ENRICHMENT CAMP will be held on Monday, June 28th – Friday, August 6, 8:30 am – 2:30 pm, for Ages 6-12 years old.  Camp is closed, Monday, July 5th.  Camp activities include instruction in academic skills and fun activities.  Breakfast and lunch will be provided after July 5th.  Transportation is available for a nominal fee.

 

NATIONAL BAPTIST CONVENTION, USA, INC.—The 130th Annual Session of the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. will be held September 6-10, 2010 in Kansas City, MO.  Members who are interested in attending this convention MUST submit an application by July 11, 2010.

 

FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH BOOSTER CLUB PRESENTS Recording Artists Reverend James Flowers & Family of "Ride Out the Storm" and Spiritlifters in concert on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 7:00 pm at First Baptist Church.  Donation:  $15.00.  Tickets available from any member of the FBC Booster Club.

 

MAGAZINE DONATIONS FOR AAMC—Donations of used appropriate weekly or monthly periodicals, magazines, such as Ebony, Essence, Goodhousekeeping, Time Magazine, and others that will be distributed to patients in Anne Arundel Medical Center.  Please no catalogs or cookbooks.  A box will be placed in the Annex marked “MAGAZINES.”  Please place your donations there.  Thanks in advance for your support.

 

ARUNDEL HABITAT FOR HUMANITY ANNOUNCEMENT—Any individual or family interested in applying for home ownership in Obery Court should contact Ms. Sambo Hilton at

410-384-9212, ext. 117.  You must be a present occupant of Annapolis Public Housing.  Presently this is the application process for those in public housing.  If this process does not produce enough applicants for home ownership, the process will be open to other interested Annapolis/County residents.

If you want to be on the Obery Court Committee for Arundel Habitat for Humanity, the Committee meets every 2 weeks at the Stanton Center.  This is a subcommittee that reviews applications.

 

HOSPITALITY MINISTRY is looking for volunteers to help with church activities that require food preparation.

 

MINISTRY OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION—The Ministry of Christian Education is looking for a secretary to take notes during meetings on the first Monday of the month at 5:30 pm.

 

THE ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, DEPARTMENT OF AGING AND DISABILITIES is seeking adults to volunteer as “Friendly Visitors for 1 hour per week.  The Friendly Visitor Program links volunteers with homebound seniors who lack consistent companionship.  The department provides training and support to visitors who provide friendship and share interests with a senior citizen who has become isolated in their home.

 

HISTORICAL MINISTRY of First Baptist Church has been formed.  The purpose of this Ministry is to preserve significant events and ceremonies so that future generations may gain knowledge on the accomplishments and progress of the Church.

 

THE MARYLAND PRIMARY ADULT CARE PROGRAM (PAC)--The Maryland Primary Adult Care Program (PAC) covers primary health care and prescription drugs for certain low income eligible Maryland residents.  Applicants must be 19 years of age or older, not eligible for Medicare, and a U.S. citizen or a qualified alien who meets all requirements for benefits.

 

 

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION MINISTRY—We are getting ready to gear up for the 2008-2009 work for the Lord.  In order for us to be effective, we need help and assistance of each ministry.  We will be meeting the First Monday of every month.

 

NURTURE FOR BAPTIST CHURCHES(NBC)—During this quarter, we shall focus on the meaning and significance of the Spirit-filled life.  NBC is in session every Sunday at 6 p.m. 

 

BIBLE STUDY will begin on Monday, October 13, at 7:15 pm.  Reverend Boston and Reverend Scott, instructors plan to give an in depth verse by verse study of the Gospel of St. John.
